John Carter is a science fiction film featuring John Carter, played by Taylor Kitsch. Edgar Rice Burroughs' 11-volume Barsoom series is the source of this movie's title role, John Carter.
This film is the live-action debut of director/writer Andrew Stanton, who has played a key part in movies such as the Toy Story series, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille, WALL-E, etc. This movie is written by Andrew Stanton, Mark Andrews and Michael Chabon.
The Plot: Former Confederate captain John Carter is suspiciously transported to planet Mars(Barsoom) where he becomes part of a war between the various nations of the planet. Carter indulges himself in the job of saving Barsoom and its people.
Though just a few seconds long, the trailer manages to grasp the attention of the viewer.The movie promises to be a thrilling ride. The highlight of the trailer is the scene where John Carter fights with a few beasts in an exotic arena. The computer graphics are spellbinding. The setting is planet Mars and the visuals make you believe that you are indeed there. Director Andrew Staton has utilized his vast experience in computer graphics effectively.
John Carter, produced by Jim Morris, Colin Wilson and Lindsey Collins and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures will hit the US screens on 9th March 2012.
